CP Distributors strives to meet the needs of our diverse customer base.  In addition to locations in Saskatoon, including Corporate Branch Support, and the Saskatoon Production Centre, we also have branches in Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, Surrey, and Halifax. 

We currently have an opening for an experienced Technical Estimator in our Edmonton branch. (Preference given to candidates based out of Edmonton, but those in Saskatoon, Regina, Halifax, Calgary, and Surrey will also be considered). As a Technical Estimator, you will:

  • Interpret the scope of work based on project drawing plans and specifications to meet customer’s needs;
  • Prepare requests for equals, and quantity take off as needed;
  • Research and provide recommendations on potential manufacturers and suppliers available, prepare cost estimates and cost savings proposals / alternates;
  • Work closely with the sales and procurement teams to obtain preferred vendor pricing;
  • Provide exceptional internal customer service and work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ensure estimates, quotes, and tenders are completed following our customer’s realistic expectations and stated closing time;
  • Attending project kick-off meetings to provide knowledge transfer to the project leader.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally, you have a minimum of 3-5+ years’ experience as a Technical Estimator or in a similar role;
  • Foundational experience and knowledge of Division 8 and 10 scopes of work, specifically with building openings (doors, frames, and hardware);
  • An active member of the Door and Hardware Institute (DHI);
  • Proven record in estimating;
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

  • Preference given to those who are experienced with doors, frames, door hardware and building specialties;
  • Deliver first-class customer experiences answering questions, trouble-shooting issues, and providing information in response to concerns and requests;
  • Initiative-taking and professional approach to problem-solving and have strong organizational abilities. Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent diligence with the drive to meet tight deadlines;
  • Initiative-taker with the ability to prioritize and organize workload in a demanding environment. Ability to collaborate with colleagues across our company, while supporting our close-knit, team- orientated culture;
  • Must be meticulous and organized.
